Present & Pleased Devotional DAY SIX

Read (or sing!) the following lyrics from You Are Who You Say You Are from Central Worship’s new album…

Jesus You alone are Lord
You are who You say You are
Jesus Jesus Jesus
There’s just something about that Name Jesus Jesus Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
They will all pass away
But there’s something
About that Name
There IS something about that name! Jesus’ name in Hebrew is Yeshua—a version of Joshua meaning “salvation.” What does salvation mean? The dictionary defines it as “the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences, which include death and separation from God.”

Deliverance. There is great power when we speak aloud the name of Jesus Christ paired with the belief that He is who He says He is. As we’re fasting and praying in the coming weeks, it’s important to include “in Jesus’ name” in our prayers. Why? Because in John 14:12-13, Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

We come to God in Jesus’ name, not ours. God does the saving, the healing, the restoring…all of it. And it is all for His glory! I pray today that our faith in the name of Jesus would increase and that we would pray bold prayers to the One Who saved our souls. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord… Why not start today?

Greater things! In the strong name of Jesus we’re believing for just that!
