Present & Pleased Devotional DAY EIGHTEEN

Serving God is not optional. Ouch. Hold on, stay with me. People have all kinds of excuses: too old, too young, too busy, too tired, too sick—and the list goes on. But, we can't ignore the evidence in the Bible that believers are  "created in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”  Ephesians 2:10

Service isn’t dependent upon your health, age, or experience. I've seen children's handmade artwork brighten up bedridden men and women. I've seen Jesus followers who have never set foot in a seminary discipling new believers.  Our attitudes are key here.  If we see ourselves as servants, we will be God-focused and dependent on the Holy Spirit. But if we’re busy worrying over how, when, and at what cost we are working for the Kingdom, then we are self-centered and missing so many God-created opportunities.

Someday we will stand before God, and He will require an account of how we used the talents and spiritual gifts we were given. What can we say to Him that will justify ignoring the opportunities He gave us to use those gifts? No excuse will hold up. Complete surrender to God’s will is the key to pleasing Him and serving His people.

Loving God and Loving People isn't a cute motto here at Central. It's an attitude of seeing others the way God does and moving in ways we could never imagine. Central Serve Day is a day on the church calendar where we can make a HUGE impact every year. But, it's not meant to be just a day. It's meant to create opportunities - opportunities of sharing God's love.  Showing the single mother needing their oil changed - God sees them. Showing the elderly man in the nursing home - God still has a purpose for him. Showing the kid getting a sno cone at the park - God loves them.

Our Heavenly Father gives us talents and abilities for a purpose, and He will equip us for greater service to His kingdom. When we serve Him wholeheartedly, we can look forward to hearing, “Well done, my good and faithful servant... Let’s celebrate together!" Matthew 25:21

Today on Central Serve Day 2021, let's love God and love people like never before!
