Central Christian Church

College Scholarship Guidelines and Procedures

Why...

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus tells us that we are to go and make new disciples.  At Central Christian Church, we want to encourage and help facilitate members of the Central Family in carrying out this Great Commission.

One of the ways that we can help this happen is through Christian education.  When members of the Central Family attend a Christian college or university, they learn how to more effectively go and make disciples.  Therefore, Central Christian Church has chosen to offer scholarships to those who attend a Christian college or university.

Who...

To receive a scholarship from Central Christian Church, an applicant must:
  • Be an active member of Central Christian Church.
  • Consistently attend services at Central Christian Church.
  • Attend an approved college or university in the Christian Church or Church of Christ brotherhood or another approved institution.
  • Complete the online scholarship application.
  • Obtain a reference from Central’s High School Pastor.  After communicating with the High School Pastor, the High School Pastor will submit his recommendation directly to the scholarship committee.

How...

Applications should be submitted by May 1st to be considered for the Fall Semester and by November 1st to be considered for the Spring Semester.  Applications submitted after the deadline may be considered if funds are available.  A meeting of the scholarship committee will take place to review each of the applications.  The scholarship committee is comprised of the Executive Pastor, Missions Pastor, and the High School Pastor.

After the scholarship committee meets, a communication will be sent to all applicants to inform them of the committee’s decision.  All scholarship money will be made payable to the college or university once the student has enrolled and has submitted a class schedule to Central’s Office Manager.
