The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the hinge of history. The Christian faith stands or falls on the resurrection.

Begin by reading 1 Corinthians 15:14 & 20. Analyze this verse for a second. Imagine your life without Jesus. Maybe you know someone who lives a life without God. What is their life like? What is yours like? Christians have an everlasting HOPE and PROMISE for eternity. Discuss the differences in a Christian life verses a worldly one.

Read Matthew 28:1-10. It is exciting to read of how Jesus rose from the dead and read of all the experiences the women and soldiers had discovering it. Put yourself in both of Mary’s shoes. How would you have reacted if Jesus suddenly appeared before you? How does thinking about this make you feel? If someone were to come and tell you “Jesus is alive!!” Would you believe them? Why or why not?

Jamie said, “Jesus’ resurrection is the most important event in history, and here are six reasons why.”

  1. Jesus’ resurrection proves His claim to be God in the flesh.
  2. Jesus’ resurrection defeated our worst enemy.
  3. Jesus’ resurrection shows there is life after death for us.

Read John 14:19 and Romans 8:10-11

  1. Jesus’ resurrection establishes an absolute standard of truth.   Read Acts 17:31 & John 14:6.
  2. Jesus’ resurrection has changed millions of lives.

Read 2 Corinthians 5:15

  1. Jesus’ resurrection gives us a daily purpose.

Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 & 2 Timothy 1:9-10.

Jesus made the way for you and His resurrection changes everything. Jamie said, “When the disciples were convinced Jesus was alive again, they were changed from fearful deserters to courageous martyrs.   And, down through the centuries, millions of born-again believers have been changed by the resurrected Jesus.” How has knowing Jesus changed your life? What did you learn most from this lesson? What is something you love doing for Jesus? What can you do better for Jesus? Close by praying for those who both know and don’t know Jesus, and ask God to open your eyes to One person who needs HIS LOVE today, and to give YOU the courage to share it.
