KINGDOM – Lesson 8

Some things in this world pair nicely together, while others don’t seem to make sense. Discuss, as a group, some things that you feel should always go together and others that should never be mixed.

The Bible talks about a number of combinations that don’t make sense in our existing world. Read Isaiah 6:6-9. Which of those seem the most unlikely? Why?

When and where will these things take place?

It is not only humans that long to see this type of peace and tranquility amidst all creation, but creation itself is chomping at the bit to experience this. Read Romans 8:18-25. In what ways is the earth groaning in labor pains?

Not only will nature find peace, but humanity will find common ground, relationally, when the lion and the lamb hang out together. What groups might finally get along in eternity? Read Romans 15:13. How does Paul say this peace is possible?

Our church should be a community of “unity in diversity.” Read John 17:23; Ephesians 4:3-4; Galatians 3:26-28. What practical steps can be taken by the church to create that sense of unity despite our differences, both individually and corporately?

Pray that GOD will bring more unity in all your relationships. Ask the Holy Spirit to instill in you a desire for the day when the lion and the lamb lay together, and all of Creation returns to the peace that GOD has always desired.
