KINGDOM – Lesson 9
All of us have days where we would just prefer to stay home and be lazy. Tell your group what types of days are you most tempted to feel this way.
A lazy day is not a bad thing, and might actually be a great refresher, but that is not a lifestyle that GOD desires. Read Proverbs 6:6-11. How could King Solomon, the wisest person ever, learn a lesson from such a tiny creature? Read 1 Corinthians 1:27.
GOD is not impressed by our stature, but by our service and efficiency. How have you seen that played out in your own life or in the lives of others?
Laziness is becoming a sweeping epidemic in our society. Why do you think that is? What is breeding a culture of lethargy?
This week’s sermon talked about the pitfalls of hitting the “snooze” button in the morning. Why is it not really that beneficial? If you disagree, make a case for why IT IS helpful to start your day. Read Proverbs 26:14.
What hardships await those with ‘idle hands?’ Read Proverbs 10:4, 26; 12:24; 13:4; 15:19; 20:4.
It’s not always easy, but how can we honor GOD with our work ethic? How can our place of employment turn into a mission field? Read Romans 12:11.
Pray that your work would be befitting of followers of Jesus Christ. Ask GOD to help you not be lazy, but rather filled with His Holy Spirit as to serve Him enthusiastically each and every day.
