PrayerWorks Devotional Day 11 – I Sing A Little Prayer For You
Have you ever been in a moment of prayer where words did not seem to be enough? Maybe you were too excited to just “talk” to GOD, or there was so much grief that spoken words could not convey the hurt of your heart. Perhaps in those moments a song came into your head and you sang a little prayer to GOD instead. There will be times in our lives when we do not know what to pray or even how to pray.
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what GOD wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with GOD’s own will” (Romans 8:26-27 NLT).
Maybe it is murmurs and groans, or maybe it is a worship song that Jesus has put on your heart and in your head. Perhaps as you are thanking Him for your day you humbly sing, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD GOD Almighty, Who was, and is, and is to come.” Songs stay in our memories and minds and can be a valuable tool to communicate our hearts when we do not have or know the words to say in worship of our GOD.
“But each day the LORD pours His unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing His songs, praying to God who gives me life.” (Psalm 42:8 NLT)
Maybe you are not a singer, but stretch yourself and sing a little prayer to GOD today. Worship should put you out of your comfort zone.
