PrayerWorks Devotional Day Twelve – Believing is Receiving

So often we pray together for GOD’s miraculous power to intervene on our behalf or on the behalf of others, but what do the conversations we have on the way to the car tell us about our belief in those prayers? “I don’t think he’ll make it.” “She’s not going to stop sleeping around anytime soon.” “There is no way they will ever receive Jesus as their Savior and be baptized.” Really? You just prayed to the Creator of the universe, the GOD that loves everyone that ever walked the earth, and you don’t think He is capable of fulfilling the prayers that were just uttered? Of course Jesus is able to do immeasurably more than we could think or imagine. We just have to believe that He knows best and align our hearts with His.

“I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24 NLT)

With this promise in mind, Christians should be excited to pray and be waiting expectantly for the answers to come. That does not mean it will be exactly the way we initially wanted or in the time frame we set forth, but believing Jesus really meant what He told His friends. When we pray GOD truly listens and He has our best in mind.

So what do you need to believe today? Pray for GOD to fulfill His plans and purposes in your life. Ask that He use you in impactful ways to bless someone you come across today. And do not just ‘hope’ that it happens, but be looking for the opportunity.
