PrayerWorks Devotional Day 14 – Praying Together

Prayer can be an intimidating subject to talk about and maybe even more intimidating to develop the habit of making it a regular part of our day. We often don’t feel comfortable talking out loud to Someone we can’t see. That is where your church family comes in to play. You are not a lone prayer warrior, called to go it alone. You are part of family that will come alongside you and pray with and for you. Sharing our prayers is part of what it means to grow together as a community. Community prayer doesn’t negate our charge to go into the inner room or closets of our home to pray to GOD one-on-one, but it is a big part of what it means to be part of the Church.

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42 NLT)

Know that your worship experiences are not limited to singing songs, giving an offering, taking Communion, or hearing a sermon. You are also gathering to pray with those that you will share eternity with.
