Over the last 8 years, Linola Spann has blessed children in our community with the gift of a brand-new backpack. Central Christian Church is partnering with her again this year for her Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 12. This year, celebrate the new school year at the original location - Mrs. Spann's home at 1905 Lamar Ave in Mt. Vernon! Children and students will have the option to drive thru the pick up line or walk up to receive a backpack.
 
Last year we gave away 1,263 backpacks. We’re reaching out to other organizations in hopes to giveaway 1,500 backpacks this year. You can bless children and families in our community as they start the school year with a new backpack and school supplies. If you’d like to participate, it’s super simple.  Click the link below for  our Amazon registry or drop off backpacks at Central Christian Church with or without supplies. School supplies Include, but are not limited to, crayons, colored pencils, #2 pencils, pink erasers, yellow highlighters, wide ruled spiral notebooks, wide ruled loose leaf notebook paper and glue sticks.
If you would like to contribute financially please make checks payable to Mrs. Spann or with "Backpack Giveaway" In the memo line.  Checks can be mailed to Mrs. Spann at 1905 Lamar Avenue, Mt. Vernon, IL. If you’re able to come alongside this terrific event, we’ll list your organization on promotional materials before and on the day of the event.
