Prayer is powerful and it works!

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. "  Philippians 4:6-7

Recently, I listened to a podcast about the power of prayer and heard many stories of how God answered prayer.  Some of the answered prayers were lifesaving and life changing miraculous moments.  Other stories were about God’s intervention in smaller everyday happenings and aggravations.  As each story was told, my confidence in prayer grew and my faith seemed to increase.  This podcast gave me a new excitement for prayer because prayer is powerful, and prayer does work.

Prayer is not just something that Christians are supposed to do, it is the pathway for telling God what we need and thanking Him for all that He has done.  Ultimately, prayer leads us to peace that is even sometimes hard to understand – peace in even the most challenging circumstances.

From now until the end of the year, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5:00 until 6:30, we invite you to come to the Worship Center and pray.  At 6:00, there will be a few worship songs to help lead us into a prayerful mindset.  Our next Prayer Night will be on August 10.

You are invited to:
  1. Come and pray – Come anytime from 5:00 until 6:30 and stay as long or as little as you would like.  You can pray for 5 minutes or for the full 90 minutes.  Give thanks and pray for the needs of your family and friends.  Ask for God’s guidance and blessings upon Central Christian Church.  Pray for both the big and the small concerns.  Pray for whatever is on your heart.
  2. Send us your prayer requests – Maybe you need to be on the receiving end of prayer.  If you have a need or concern (big or small) for which you would like prayer, you can send it to us by text: 618-242-485, message us on Facebook or fill out the form below and it will be brought to God in prayer.

Let us pray for you!

Pray for One

At Central, we believe in the importance of prayer to transform individuals, the church, and the world. God is calling us to share His love through Pray for One. Pray for One is waking up every day and praying this prayer,
“God, open my eyes to One person who needs Your love today and give me the courage to share it.”

The Bible tells us that God prearranges divine meetings between you and others who need to experience His love.  Praying the Pray for One prayer opens our eyes so that we can recognize, and show love to, the people God has put in our path.

A prayer team comes together each week to lift up your requests. Your prayers matter!
